Our projects

Two in One

I had the chance to observe first-hand a unique approach to farming that combines cattle rearing with oil palm plantations in South Kalimantan and Lampung. What's interesting about this technique is that it doesn't compromise the productivity of the crop, even though the land is being shared with livestock. The idea is to use the cattle droppings as fertilizers, which enriches the soil and enhances the growth of the palm trees. Additionally, the cows get to graze on the vegetation growing between the trees, which keeps the area clean and free from weeds. The outcome of this approach is a sustainable and efficient system that benefits both the crops and the livestock. As a nature enthusiast, I found this strategy not only fascinating but also an excellent example of how we can work with nature instead of against it.
